Meet Our Teachers
Jerrica Watrous
Ms. Watrous is the visionary founder and owner of The Music Studio, a premier institution for music education. Her profound passion for music was evident from a young age, as she excelled in piano and vocal performance. At the age of 8, she embarked on her musical journey with private piano lessons, continuing her rigorous training through high school. Her dedication and talent earned her a place at the prestigious Hartt School of Music, where she specialized in Music Education and Vocal Performance. As a classically trained lyric soprano, Jerrica possesses a rich and versatile vocal range. She has also mastered the intricate techniques of mixing and belting, enhancing her pedagogical expertise. With over 25 years of teaching experience, Jerrica is a distinguished member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) and has performed across the United States and Europe.
Jerrica’s commitment to her students is unparalleled, and her teaching philosophy is rooted in patience, attentive listening, and motivational guidance. Her students have achieved remarkable success, gaining admission to esteemed institutions such as Furman University, the University of Connecticut, and the Hartt School. They have secured lead roles in musical productions, earned top placements in the CT NATS and NATS NE student auditions, and received accolades in the Eastern Regional and All-State Choirs.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Jerrica is a dedicated mother of three. Her personal and professional experiences converge to create a nurturing and inspiring environment at The Music Studio, where students thrive under her expert mentorship.
